    What matters to me the most is the FACT that Improved fuel filtration with good lubrication will make fuel pump and injectors last much longer. And those are costly pain in the ass repair bills with a lot of hidden worries. Good habits and maintenance will help you drive a lot of worry free diesel miles.

    At this point that keypad is as much a part of ford as cam phasers clacking and that blue oval. One of the cars I was looking at when I was looking at buying my first car was a old ass late 1970s MK5 and that thing had that damn thing on it LOL... It's been on Fords for a very very very long time though.

    From New information it seems like a lot of the failures were from the 300hp version and the variable oil pump wasn't creating enough pressure. Ford just discontinued that version

    The 2025 fully loaded F-450 platinum plus I have pictures of ford testing didn’t have the key pad so maybe they got rid of it or maybe it’s not a standard option or maybe it just wasn’t put on it since it was a testing vehicle. I hope they didn’t discontinue it.

    Ford has been using keyless entry at least from 1986 or earlier. My parents had a 1986 Lincoln Mark VII with keyless entry and air suspension. It was nice to use then and still is a nice feature to have, but now key fobs seem to be used more these days.

    I'm going through the same thing with the dealer ship right now and they said they were greased ONE time and got around 180000 thousand on the truck 2019! They replaced the drivers side and said the other side was fine 😮 drivers side 2 caps frozen on and steering would lock in place, had to Jerk wheel to straighten vehicle out but passengers side was fine, I looked at it and I swear they have never been done. Windshield wiper control work when it wants to when turned on and one turns it off and it still going and that was replaced as well so back in the shop today. They said no need to change it nothing will happen 😮 just unbelievable the service people get for the money they charge!almost 10,000 in the last month on this truck and still pulls to the left!

    I don't know where to begin... People overthink this. An engine needs good ring seal, and gasket seal, pcv functioning properly, and kept in good tune. Then regular oil and filter changes. That's all the magic there is to this. Yes, synthetic oils hold up to heat better, and are not much more expensive than blends or conventional, but you can run whatever you want as long as the oil is properly spec'd for your application, and you're doing your oil changes within the proper time based on your individual scenario. The problem is people stretching out their service intervals too long (based on all the factors pertinent to their situation), and then the oil starts depositing crap inside the oiling system. Keep it up and then you're dumping clean oil into a dirty system and using up that great additives package way before it's time. It's a snowball affect. Even a gummed up engine can be cleaned up. But that's a time consuming process. But worth doing rather than "avoiding synthetics because they'll break it up too much". What??? No. All oils have an additives package for cleaning. Only thing you're doing by running an expensive synthetic in a gummed up mess, is having crud dirty up your expensive oil sooner than you'd want. Get the crud out of the engine, and THEN run "expensive" full syn oil. I run a quality top shelf synthetic and change mine every 3k miles, based on MY driving habits/pertinent factors. Sure, it would likely do it's job great until 5-7k or beyond.... But an oil change is a small fraction of the cost for a good USED engine swap. Oil is cheap as hell insurance, and i love a very clean oiling system. When i pull an oil pan out valve cover off i love to see an exceptionally clean and well oiled machine underneath. Most people i know probably need engine insurance more than vehicle insurance, and vehicle insurance costs $100-$250 a month. Can't afford $50 every six months?

    Previous owner of the car I drive used Motorcraft blend and I didn't ask him how often he changed it. He just said he used the OLM. I read in the OM it said it could be set at 3000 to 7500 miles. I figured it would be 5000 but I realized by watching the OLM it was set at 7500 miles. That didn't really bother me because I know some of the later model Ford's recommend the blend for longer intervals than that and looking at the physical properties and formula of the Motorcraft blend oil I'd say it's probably good for at least 7500 IF you drive a lot of highway miles where the engine oil is at it's optimum operation temperature for probably 20 minutes and longer each trip. I have more shorter trips so I didn't wait till 7500 miles. Personally I wouldn't wait that long on a blend if you have a lot of shorter trips or mostly in town driving and that's what the previous owner had was mostly in town with some trips to a casino now and then. I had to trade a warrantied part to a parts house where I had already purchased another brand and they offered to just refund me..long story short their printer screwed up my receipt so about 45 minutes in to "just getting my money back" I asked if they would just put the money on a gift card and then give me product instead. That took 3 minutes. I traded for some Valvoline 0w30 European. It's SN rated and wasn't tested for what I drive but it would surpass those tests and I knew that. I looked into some detergent based engine cleaners but I've decided to just use synthetic on shorter intervals for probably a year before I just switch to longer interval synthetic. Synthetic is better on a good engine BECAUSE synthetic is polar bonded. The long and short of polar bonding is polar bonds stick to metal better. If I had conventional oil in an engine and didn't operate it for a month all that oil is in the sump and what's behind on the surface is the AW and FM additives. But if I use synthetic oil in my engine and then don't start it for 10 years that oil is still adhering to the cylinder walls and there's oil not just surface boundary AW and FM. I wouldn't run synthetic on older engines with older seal materials and worn internal components. I tried Mobil 1 back in the 90s and found out it wouldn't stay in an engine where conventional would. But I don't have anything anymore that has needs like that anymore. I'm not an oil brand freak. If it meets the spec, the API, and the viscosity then any modern oil is fine. All modern oil is cracked and solvent dewaxed and has been for 30+ years. I just buy what's cheapest unless I'm specifically trying to clean an engine that I don't think had the best maintenance.

    The 430s with 19.5 tires is a few decimals points away from 4.10 in f350. With 17 wheels. I have 2015 F350 max tow with wide front end and 17 inch wheels with 430 gears. It is great at getting 42k loads of round bales moving and hauling hay on sandy paastures with thay load. Better than F450 2019 with taller tires.

    The only reason why the f250 6.2L tops out at 12500-13000 is because of the weight the engine already needs to pull. If the f150 was pulling by itself 6500 pounds just on its four wheels it would dramatically lower the top towing capacity. But since the f150 is lighter they can pull a little bit more than the 6.2. For long distance I would 100% recommend the f250 if you do work and haul lumber and rock get that f250, but if u are towing just twice a year or so, get that f150. Both trucks are guaranteed to get the job done.

  • @richwitt3559
    @richwitt3559 10 днів тому

    I have a 22 F450, and agree about the gear ratio. Towing my 15k 5th wheel it is great but driving across I-80 in the west with long stretches of 80 mph speed limits it would be nice to have 3.73 gears driving empty. It would be also be an improvement if the truck would use 2nd gear for starting off while in regular drive mode, and if tow/haul is selected then first gear is used.
